LTN COMMITTEE

LOVE THEY NEIGHBOR COMMITTEE

The CBENT Love Thy Neighbor (LTY) Committee seeks to help others in need, both within and outside of our local community, by performing good deeds, providing monetary and non-monetary contributions, and advocating for policy changes. LTN’s activities are based on the concepts of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), the fundamental principle in the Torah to “Love your neighbor as yourself,” and Abraham’s exemplification of hesed (loving kindness) towards strangers. In the past, we’ve gathered and distributed food, clothing and other supplies to those living in and exiled from Ukraine, and homeless in Philadelphia. We’ve partnered with a local Ukrainian church, other synagogues and various local agencies. LTN has a planning committee as well as the LTN Volunteer Brigade, ready to be called for direct help with specific projects. We are ready to work with students needing to fulfill Mitzvah Project requirements as well as high school students seeking credit for volunteer work. We invite anyone to help in our efforts to provide for those in need locally and internationally.
